The Great iPod Cleaning 2005

Today and the rest of this week shall from hereforth be known as The Great iPod Cleaning 2005. With a low workload, and most of the rest of the people I work with gone this week, I shall be taking the opportunity to remove some stuff from my iPod which I have never listened to once, to make room for some new stuff which has been missing.

Some Things That Will Be Deleted From My iPod
1. Hootie and the Blowfish- all of it. Sorry Magers, I don't hate them as much as some people, but I've never listened to them on my iPod and don't see that changing anytime soon.
2. A bunch of stuff that I got from the library but is severly scratched and not worth the space. Some might be replaced eventually.
3. Some jazz stuff which I still have in original form or on my computer, but which I don't find myself listening to often.
4. All my Jimi Hendrix, because it all skips, even though some of the cd's don't skip at all. This will be finding it's way back on once I deal with this problem.

Some Things That Will Not Be Deleted From My iPod, Though Some Might Think They Should
1. Ignition (Remix) by R. Kelly. On my iPod until the day I die.
2. Loads and loads of jazz which I still have in original form or on my computer which I don't find myself listening to often, but should.
3. Brian Regan.
4. Anything involving myself, Andrew Bixby, Drew Bixby, or me. In any combination.
5. Everything on my iPod that I don't actually own, and thus am pirating, I mean if there were such things which there's not so don't arrest me.

Things Which Are Walking A Tight Rope To Maintain Their Spot On My iPod
1. Nick Cave/Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds stuff that I got from the library that is scratched, but I still try to listen to anyways.
2. Guns N Roses.
3. Some random stuff which I only have one or two songs per artist and while it will not free up much space, it doesn't really serve much of a purpose.
4. Pete Yorn
5. A bunch of live bootleg stuff of varying qualities which in some cases are missing one or two songs, but which takes away from the bigger picture.

Things Which Will Be Finally Finding Their Home On My iPod
1. Spoon "Gimme Fiction"
2. Wolf Parade "Apologies to Queen Mary" (these last two I just recently got, but are so good they should have gone on right away)
3. The rest of my Morrissey and The Smiths records which aren't on there yet (You Are The Quarry, Viva Hate, Bona Drag, the The Smiths record with Asleep, Best II)
4. Iron and Wine "Our Endless Numbered Days"
5. HIM "Love Metal" (weird right, but I like it)
6. Zero 7 (the record with the song from the Garden State soundtrack on it)
7. A bunch of other stuff which I do actually own and desire at different points through-out the day (at work) to listen to.

Sorry, those lists were pretty much for me. But this is the internet, so you have to read it.

Also, my new name is Flybeard the Sailor. Beard status: Good.

Wasting time, wasting days, wasting days to waste away, we're wasting away...

Sitting in the first night of my continuing ed. class... QuickBooks. (Un)fortunately, I already know everything we've done so far, so I figured I'd "multi-task." There are only four of us in the class, which is about three too many. I remember one of the most annoying things about being in school... you always have that person who has no idea what's going on and keeps asking about stuff the teacher is about to get to. And this one mumbles under her breath reading everything in the book and on screen. I want to die, and this is the end of hour two of twelve. Now I know why drugs were invented.

Anyways, things have been good. Sarah got accepted to UW-Oshkosh for the Spring semester, so that's pretty exciting. She already talked to her work and they're going to work with her class schedule, so that's good.

Door County trip this weekend. So excited. No phones, no computers, no bills, no apartments to manage. I want to be drinking all weekend. And I think I will.

I updated my CD list (yeah I'm a nerd)... I passed the 500 mark. 515. Whew. And I have another list of 400+ that I want. Luckily, most of them are on yourmusic.com, my new best friend.

Been listening to a lot of music lately. Bought Spoon "Gimme Fiction" and Wolf Parade "Apologies to Queen Mary" with some of my Powerball winnings. Oh yeah, I won $35 on Powerball last night. Been really trying to find some stuff that rocks my socks off. Those two are pretty close to doing so.

Current Records Which Are Rocking My World
1. Wolf Parade- "Apologies to Queen Mary"
2. Spoon- "Gimme Fiction"
3. Iron & Wine- "Our Endless Numbered Days" (I never really gave this record too much of a chance, but the other night I was waiting for Sarah to get off work, and the planets aligned right to blow my socks off. Songs to check out: "Naked As We Came," "Cinder and Smoke")
4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- "Howl"

Any of these records may blow your socks off. They did to mine.

Anyways, too hard to concentrate with all these people "talking" and "learning." That's it for now.... More to come...

Task for the day...

Save Brian from himself.
