I'm back, bitches

Being the perpetual failure of all things "Week"ly that I am, I've decided to forego that whole JABBICWHOLMFDIOIA:LKF nonsense. I apologize for getting all of your hopes up. I just don't feel like reviewing CDs right now. The following are reasons for that feeling, not excuses:

1. I don't have time to properly sit down and listen and contemplate. I've been really busy lately, and will be for a little while longer. Too much to do. Can't sit at work and just LISTEN to a CD.

2. I don'-wanna.

3. That's it.

Maybe someday I'll get around to it... Or just do some here or there. Maybe I'm bad at commitment to ridiculous self-ascribed challenges (see also "Watch A Different Movie Everyday For A Year" Challenge {made it to sometime in February} or "Salad Week" {had one salad}).

However I am going to post for serious now. Hooray.

Within the last hour or so a guy pulled some tissue paper off of the space shuttle or something. I don't know what it says for our space program that you can just pull stuff off of the space shuttle with your (gloved) hand.

Went to see Chris Isaak at Oneida last night. He put on a really good show. I was feeling kinda sick, which sucked, but the show was fun. It's obviously pretty scripted out ("moves", jokes, etc.), but it's all good- so were all those old Vegas showmen's shows. For the encore he wore a suit made out of little mirrors, essentially making it a "disco ball suit." That was redick.

V.O.R. Dan.

A lot of other stuff has been going on. Sarah's grandma's back surgery went ok. The ensuing redickness was not as good- lots of long days. It's all good though. They're pretty much my family up here (Sarah's family) so I don't mind it.

Went on a 15-mile bike ride Saturday. You never know how long a 15-mile bike ride is until you ride it. It's fucking long. Really long. Plus, we ran out of water by about mile 5.5, then continued on another 2 miles or so, where we eventually found a little supper club (beeteedub, we were riding on a trail in the middle of nowhere through these tiny towns and villages). The supper club served alligator and turtle. We just had water. So we filled up our water there and headed back. The problem is, you're fine on a trip like that until you stop. Then it starts in with the ass sucking. Whoop.

Been playing a lot of drums lately. Pretty much have gotten traditional grip down, which probably doesn't mean much to anyone, except maybe Dan Mc and maybe Brian. It was harder to get down then you'd think.

Apparently I've been overcoming things that are harder than I thought they'd be lately.

Oh, and holy shit. Everyone who likes good music at all needs to check out Sam Phillips. She's on Nonesuch Records. Her album (she has many, the only one I can account for...) is called A Boot and A Shoe. Holy shit. I guess being married to T-Bone Burnett probably helps. Word on the streets has it that maybe she used to be some crappy pappy Christian pop singer. Not anymore. Music sounds like Tom Waits "Mule Variations" kinda. Voice sounds like... out of control sweet/haunting. Go. Now. Stop reading this. If you want to post a comment, do it quickly, then go check her out. I'm not kidding here.... GO!

fucking kids... no respect for authority....

I SAID GO!
